Social media is websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. This can be extremely beneficial to our lives. Some examples of this being useful to our lives include, reaching a larger audience, having a direct connection with your audience, building your brand, and uncovering valuable insight.

The Me Too movement (or #MeToo movement), is a movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault. The purpose of “Me Too” is to empower women through empathy and strength by visibly demonstrating how many women have survived sexual assault and harassment.
This is a positive aspect to social media because it spreads awareness and lets people know they are not alone. “On Oct 15, 2017, American actress Alyssa Milano posted on twitter, “If all the women who have ever been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘Me too.’ as a status, then we give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem,” A number of high-profile posts and responses from American celebrities Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Lawrence and Uma Thurman, soon followed”.
“After millions of people started using the phrase and hashtag in this manner, it spread to dozens of other languages. The scope has become somewhat broader with this expansion, it has been more recently referred to it as an international movement for justice for marginalized people in marginalized communities”.

Women from all over the world have come forward to share their story of being sexually harassed. They have done it on social media using the hashtag “Me Too”, which aims to show the extent of sexual assault. The hashtag in front of metoo was added to make the movement start trending.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
